Preserved historical records

The existing site snapshot contains 48,214 public branch pages, including 40,057 pages with an address and 39,224 with a telephone number. All existing URLs and original content are preserved. Contact details are displayed separately when the code and branch name match. Different historical pages are retained for comparison.

Reviewed institution labels

These directory names correct inconsistent source category labels using the institution’s own publications. This review concerns names only, not the current validity of individual CNAPS codes.

About this directory

This is an independent reference directory, with no live connection to the People’s Bank of China or any listed bank. Confirm current branch details with the receiving bank before making a payment.

Counts describe the records in this snapshot and do not establish complete coverage of every bank or current operating status. Conflicting records remain available for comparison.

Institution grouping

Institutions are grouped by explicit names in the branch records. This is name-based organization, not confirmation of legal ownership or current operating status. Historical names and spelling variants are not automatically merged. 135 records remain in clearly labelled review categories. Chinese institution names are retained when a dependable English name is unavailable.

Missing fields and conflicts

Missing addresses: 148,683; missing telephone numbers: 148,683; missing SWIFT values: 148,683. Blank or placeholder values are not invented. Records sharing one code but different facts remain visible with a conflict label.

English names, source status labels and locations may contain errors or historical values. A correctly formatted code and a matching database entry do not establish current validity.

Existing branch pages

Older individual branch pages use a separate historical third-party dataset. Its exact origin and review date have not been established. This new snapshot does not automatically verify those older pages.

Corrections

Use the Report incorrect information form to send a public CNAPS code, the proposed correction and a bank reference URL for manual review. Reports are private and do not change records automatically. Please do not include account numbers, identity documents or payment receipts. For a current payment, contact the receiving bank directly.
